Why American and Canadian patients keep choosing IVF in Mexico

I never planned to write publicly about fertility, donor eggs, medical tourism, or any of the things my life revolves around today.

But life has a way of rerouting you.

My wife and I went through two cycles in Montreal using her own eggs.

Her AMH was extremely low, but we tried anyway because that is what couples do when they want a family.

Both cycles failed.

We were emotionally drained and financially stretched.

Donor eggs were the next logical step, but in Canada the cost was overwhelming (especially when using a donor bank).

We started researching alternatives quietly and that is how Mexico became part of our story.

The real turning point

From the outside, IVF in Mexico looks like a cheaper alternative.

Sure, the cost matters, but it is not the only reason we packed our suitcases.

The real shift happened when we spoke with Dr. Jorge Enrique Torres Ramírez, who at that time was at Fertygen in Mexico City.

For the first time, a doctor sat with us, explained clearly, answered our questions directly, and treated low AMH as a challenge rather than a dead end.

He recommended donor eggs, showed us the process, explained the timeline, and walked us through the full plan without any confusion.

Between 2017 and 2019, we completed two donor egg cycles in Mexico City.

We now have two very healthy children from those treatments.

That experience did more than change our lives. It completely changed my path.

Why people choose IVF in Mexico now

Once I began helping other patients, I noticed something important.

People assume Americans and Canadians go to Mexico because it is cheaper.

After reading enough patient groups, Reddit threads, and Facebook groups, you notice the real reason.

People leave their home countries because they want clarity, communication, and emotional safety.

Here is what stands out when people consider IVF in Mexico.

Communication feels completely different

You ask a question and you get an answer.

You do not wait weeks.

You do not go through multiple layers of staff.

You talk to someone who cares.

The best Mexican clinics offer serious quality

Many clinics routinely manage complex cases such as low ovarian reserve, multiple failed cycles and male factor infertility.

The labs are modern and the teams are highly trained.

The care feels human

This is the part patients feel as soon as they arrive.

There is more warmth, more time, more attention, more humanity.

Mexico makes the journey a little softer.

The timelines are fast

Appointments move quickly.

You can sometimes start within days instead of months.

The pricing is clear

You know what you are paying.

You see the full plan.

There are no surprise add-ons.

How this led to Enlistalo Fertilidad

After our own journey, people started messaging me for help.

You did IVF in Mexico, right?

Which clinic should I look at?

Is donor egg IVF safe there?

How much does it cost?

Can you help me understand the steps?

It became obvious that patients do not just need a clinic.

They need a guide.

Someone who has lived the process and understands every step.

That is how Enlistalo Fertilidad began.

A bridge between international patients and the care they want (and they deserve).

Help for people who need clear pricing, fast answers, real communication, and a doctor who treats them like humans.

If our two cycles in Montreal had not failed, Enlistalo would not exist today.

Life is strange in a beautiful way.

What I wish I had known in 2017

If you are considering IVF in Mexico, here are some insider tips.

Do not obsess over published success rates: Every clinic calculates them differently.

Watch how quickly they respond: This predicts your whole experience.

Ask who actually performs the procedures: Sometimes the doctor from your initial consultation is barely involved.

Ask for full pricing upfront: Transparency is a sign of real professionalism.

Do not travel alone if possible: IVF is intense.

Support matters: Do not let anyone rush you, good clinics respect your pace.

The future of IVF in Mexico is not just about being cheaper.

It is about being aligned with what patients want.

People want clarity, humane communication, solid embryology, normal pricing, and shorter wait times.

Mexico happens to offer all of that without trying to be flashy.

This is why Americans and Canadians keep coming.

Not just for a discount, but for care that actually feels like care.
