The program is organised in five phases, and you pay each phase as it begins, never the whole program upfront.
Most journeys take about 14 to 18 months from your first consultation to bringing your baby home.
Getting started
Initial Online Surrogacy Consultations
This is where every surrogacy journey begins. You meet the team through two separate online consultations. The first is about 2 hours with Dr. Castillo Peláez, medical director of the surrogacy program, to review your situation, explain the medical process and, if you use donor eggs, start talking about your donor. The second is with Rafael Guzmán Romero, in charge of surrogate management and all legal aspects, to walk you through the surrogate matching, the contract and the legal process in Mexico. You can then decide calmly, with all your questions answered.
Payment by credit card through Stripe, or by wire transfer.
Programs
Surrogacy with Frozen Embryo Transfer
For intended parents who already have frozen embryos. No IVF cycle is needed, so you go straight to the transfer. If your embryos are in another country or clinic, Tuxkuku handles the transportation and the procedures take place at Procrea.
Surrogacy with IVF/ICSI
For intended parents using their own eggs and sperm. Includes the five phases of the program with an IVF/ICSI cycle to create your embryos.
Surrogacy with 8 Donor Eggs
The five phases of the program with an 8 donor eggs package. Dr. Castillo Peláez helps you choose your donor himself, usually during the initial video consultation.
Surrogacy with 12 Donor Eggs
The five phases of the program with a 12 donor eggs package, for more embryos and more chances of an additional transfer or a sibling later.
Surrogacy with 16 Donor Eggs
The five phases of the program with a 16 donor eggs package, often chosen by couples where both partners want to provide sperm or who plan a larger family.
Phase 1
What happens in Phase 1
Your surrogate is selected and the contract is signed before a notary, usually 4 to 6 weeks after your first payment. Your embryos are then created through IVF, about 2 weeks of stimulation followed by 5 to 6 days of embryo culture. With existing embryos, this is when they are shipped and the transfer is prepared.
Surrogate selection, contract and insurance are paid before the contract and power of attorney are signed. The IVF or frozen embryo transfer and the planning fee are paid before your treatment begins, to reserve the dates.
Surrogate Selection and Contract
Legal fees for the contract and its protocolisation before a notary, surrogate screening and selection, and coordination and care.
Pregnancy Insurance (Mutuus)
Coverage for major pregnancy-related expenses starting one month after the contract is signed, including premature birth, late miscarriage, delivery complications and intensive care.
Planning, Coordination and Scheduling
Treatment planning, reservation and coordination of treatment dates, medical staff scheduling, preparation of your treatment timeline, coordination of required appointments, and pre-treatment arrangements. Included in every version of the program.
IVF/ICSI Procedure
Monitoring and all appointments at the clinic, anesthesia, ICSI, stimulation medication, egg puncture and retrieval, semen collection and preparation, embryo culture, fresh or frozen embryo transfer and cryopreservation of remaining embryos for 2 months.
IVF with 8 Donor Eggs Package
Donor selection, stimulation medication for the donor, 8 eggs, anesthesia, ICSI, egg puncture and retrieval, embryo culture, embryo transfer and cryopreservation of remaining embryos for 2 months.
IVF with 12 Donor Eggs Package
Donor selection, stimulation medication for the donor, 12 eggs, anesthesia, ICSI, egg puncture and retrieval, embryo culture, embryo transfer and cryopreservation of remaining embryos for 2 months.
IVF with 16 Donor Eggs Package
Donor selection, stimulation medication for the donor, 16 eggs, anesthesia, ICSI, egg puncture and retrieval, embryo culture, embryo transfer and cryopreservation of remaining embryos for 2 months.
Frozen Embryo Transfer
Cycle monitoring or hormonal preparation, thawing of the embryo(s), ultrasound-guided transfer and progesterone support. Replaces the IVF cycle when you already have embryos.
Phase 2
What happens in Phase 2
Your surrogate goes through about 3 to 4 weeks of hormonal preparation, then Dr. Castillo Peláez performs the embryo transfer. The pregnancy test comes 10 to 12 days later. The legal team also starts preparing the voluntary jurisdiction process.
Paid before your surrogate begins her hormonal preparation.
Transfer Preparation and Surrogate Care
Surrogate coordination and care, the surrogate's initial payment for the embryo transfer, legal fees for voluntary jurisdiction, fees and services.
Program Coordination
Ongoing follow-up, communication, administrative support and liaison between the medical and legal teams throughout the whole process, with Michaël as your point of contact.
Phase 3
What happens in Phase 3
From the positive pregnancy test to the delivery. Your surrogate is supported and compensated through each trimester, and the voluntary jurisdiction process moves forward so most of the legal work is done before your baby arrives.
Paid when the pregnancy is confirmed.
Prenatal Care
Surrogate coordination and care, first, second and third trimester surrogate fees, legal fees for voluntary jurisdiction, and services.
Phase 4
What happens in Phase 4
Phase 4 runs at the same time as Phase 3, it does not add time to your journey. It covers the medical follow-up of the pregnancy under the direction of Dr. Castillo Peláez, from early pregnancy until the delivery.
Paid at the first pregnancy ultrasound.
Pregnancy Control
Ongoing pregnancy monitoring, including regular medical evaluations, ultrasounds, medication when required, and continued medical support to monitor the health and development of the pregnancy through delivery.
Phase 5
What happens in Phase 5
Your baby is born, the Mexican birth certificate is issued in your names, followed by the Mexican passport and then your home country's passport. Plan to stay in Mexico City about 2 to 4 weeks after the birth.
Paid around week 32 of the pregnancy, so everything is ready before the delivery.
Birth, Certification and Registration
The surrogate's final payment, legal fees for the registration of your baby's birth certificate in your names, and services.
Additional Fees
Additional Frozen Embryo Transfer
If a transfer does not result in a pregnancy. Cycle monitoring or hormonal preparation, thawing of the embryo(s), ultrasound-guided transfer and progesterone support. Adds about 4 to 6 weeks per transfer, with no need to repeat the IVF cycle.
Cesarean Section
Delivery by cesarean section with the full medical team, 2 surgeons, 1 anesthesiologist, 1 neonatologist, 1 surgical nurse and 2 assistant nurses. A 20% increase applies for twin pregnancies due to additional staff. Hospitalization is not included.
Multiple Pregnancy Fee
Surrogate compensation for a multiple pregnancy, covering the increased base compensation and related allowances.
Miscarriage Fee
Diagnosis through ultrasound and blood tests, expectant or medicated management, D&C (dilation and curettage), medical fees, medication, hospital fee and follow-up care. A new transfer can usually be scheduled after 1 to 2 cycles.
Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT-A)
Genetic testing for aneuploidy on up to 8 embryos before the transfer. Results take about 2 to 3 weeks.
Hysteroscopy
Hysteroscopy procedure for endometrial scratching, done before the transfer preparation when Dr. Castillo Peláez recommends it.
Egg or Embryo Storage
Annual storage fee for your eggs or embryos, after the 2 months of cryopreservation already included in your IVF package.
Embryo Shipping with Tuxkuku
Never included in the program price. Only if your embryos or genetic material are stored in another country. Tuxkuku handles the transport to Mexico City and the COFEPRIS permits, and it is paid before shipping. The price goes from $90,000.00 MXN to $140,000.00 MXN depending on the country of origin. The procedures then take place at Procrea.
Your personalised quote and calendar
Additional fees are only charged if the procedure is needed, and are paid before it is performed. Timelines are estimates and depend on medical results, surrogate matching and your home country's procedures. Once your treatment is scheduled, Michaël sends you a personalised calendar with every step and every payment date, and a reminder before each payment.
